Affligem Tripel 33cl, 8.5%ABV

This is a Belgian tripel-style ale. It has a nose of hop flowers, almost IPA-ish but with an extra touch of sherbet and fruit. The palate is of light fruit (lemon and lime), sparkly sherbet, leaf coriander and lots of citrusy hops. There is also a fairly hefty alcohol kick on the roof of the mouth. Finish is very hoppy, fading into a flowery aftertaste. This is a pretty impressive offering really - plenty of hop character for a tripel, maybe at the expense of malty smoothness but certainly not at the expense of character and complexity (Oxford Bottled Beer Database). 33cl, 8.5%ABV.
